Family Service Hours
Family Service is a volunteer program to encourage all our families to get involved in our school community. All families with students enrolled in AGM Elementary and Preschool are encouraged to contribute volunteer service hours during the school year or be charged $250 at the end of the academic year. Parents will choose from a list of service opportunities.

WHY DOES AGM HAVE A FAMILY SERVICE PROGRAM?
At AGM, we are dedicated to supporting the families who have entrusted us with the care and education of their children. The Family Service Program is designed to identify meaningful opportunities for parents to contribute their time and talents. More importantly, it fosters a sense of unity and collaboration, strengthening our community as we work together toward shared goals.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Families are encouraged to choose their preferred service opportunities for the school year from a list of options provided in advance by the Parent Support Committee (PSC). For families who do not fulfill their service commitment, a $250 service fee will be charged in June at the end of the academic year. The PSC will share a report with the school administration identifying families who have successfully completed their assigned responsibilities.
Important Note: When volunteering for an event, it is crucial to commit to completing the full designated hours. If you are unable to fulfill the entire time requirement, please select an event that better aligns with your availability.
WHAT IF OUR FAMILY CANNOT COMMIT THE TIME TO VOLUNTEER?
The annual amount for the buyout option is $250.00 which will be billed at the end of the 2025-26 academic year.
WHAT ARE THE SERVICE OPTIONS?
Parents will receive notification outlining a variety of service opportunities, including roles such as Parent Spirit Committee Membership, assisting with athletic events, coaching, AGM Dads Club membership, supporting annual fundraising events, and volunteering at school events like the Annual Book Fair. Sign ups will become available incrementally.
WILL THIS LIMIT SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO DO MORE?
Absolutely not! Many families already serve substantially more than the proposed minimum service. We do not want to discourage participation in any way, but do want other families to experience the benefits of being actively involved in the school community.
